The president of the firm behind global hit video game Grand Theft Auto has stated he is "not interested" in making a movie based on the best-selling franchise.
According to Variety, Rockstar negotiated a deal to develop a Grand Theft Auto movie and the flick was "virtually in place with one of six major studios" last spring.
Eminem was "quite possibly going to star", claims the report, but the deal fell through at the last minute after publisher Take-Two failed to agree terms.
Now Dan Houser, the president of Rockstar, has responded to the claims, stating his firm has 'no interest' in being involved with such a project.
"Some movie producers were trying to put something together to entice us to make a movie, as studios and production teams frequently have done in the past," Houser told MTV.
"This proposal was no more interesting than the numerous others we receive. We never entertained proceeding with the project."
When asked if a movie is something he would consider in the future, Houser added: "It is not something we are currently interested in."
