According to GamesIndustry, the news was revealed after "a source close to the developer Rare" confirmed the game's development.
The source also revealed that "he was excited about what the developer was doing with Banjo and thought it would be a big hit for Microsoft".
Microsoft, however, refused to comment on the announcement.
