Nintendo promises Xmas 'major release'
Nintendo has revealed that it is preparing a major Christmas release, promising a "game that gamers will want".

The announcement from company boss Reggie Fils-Aime, who also revealed plans to unveil the firm's second-half lineup at the forthcoming E3 event, has fuelled speculation that the firm may release the next Zelda game during the festive season.

“We’re going to unveil the whole second half during E3,” Fils-Aime told GameTrailers. “I mean come on, there’s more than enough to get people excited.

“We’re going to have great new content maximizing all of our key franchises."

Nintendo's spring release schedule is already looking good, with Wii Fit and Mario Kart in April, but the critically-acclaimed Super Smash Brothers: Brawl has yet to receive a release date.

E3 2008 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Centre between July 15 and 17.
