Nvidia has launched a state-of-the-art PC graphics card, which it has described as 'the fastest graphics card available'.
The Nvidia 9800 GX2 features two super-fast GPUs, each with 128 dedicated processor cores and 512Mb of GDDR3 memory.
The device, which offers a 600Mhz core clock speed and 1Gb of memory with a speed of 1000Mhz, connects via a PCI Express 2.0 slot.
Nvidia claims users will be "blown away by scorching frame rates, true-to-life extreme HD gaming, and picture-perfect Blu-ray and HD DVD movies".
The specialist press, however, has had mixed views over the card. The Inquirer described the 9800 GX2 as a 'joke' due to its high price, adding that "sometimes you don't get what you pay for".
But Custompc liked the card, stating: "As you’d expect from a £376 card packing two fast GPUs, the framerate scores were incredibly high. This is the first single card that can play Crysis at 1,680 x 1,050, for example, with a smooth minimum of 28fps," awarding it 90% for speed and 83% overall.
