'No More Heroes' celebrates 'hardcore' success

Martin Defries, the MD of Rising Star, whose firm faced a blacklash after deciding to release a hardcore game on a format normally associated with casual titles, said: "I think a 'told you so' would be apt at some point.”
Celebrating its fourth place position in the Wii charts, Defries added: "We are weeping with delight. Especially as sales should improve further with the TV campaign moving up a gear from tonight. It is a verification of all the posturing and ambitious claims made these past months.
“Thanks to Nintendo and the Wii console. Thanks to Mastertronic for their sales efforts and all our retail partners. Most of all thanks to Grasshopper for the greatest of products."
Despite its success in the Wii charts, however, No More Heroes only managed to reach number 18 in the latest all-formats chart.
