'Halo 3' Legendary Map Pack announced
Published Thursday, Mar 20 2008, 14:46 GMT | By David Gibbon

Three new maps will be released, as well as extra forge options, via the Xbox Live Marketplace at a cost of 800 Microsoft Points.
The most significant new map will be Ghost Town, which, according to Microsoft, will feature "a battle-scarred maze of narrow passages and dangerous ruins outside the once-prosperous city of Voi. Collapsed ceilings and shell-battered buildings provide both valuable cover and deadly traps, as catwalks and stairways take the fight from claustrophobic ground combat to dizzying rooftop battles."
The second map will be entitled Avalanche, which will be a tribute to Halo's Sidewinder map and, according to Microsoft, is a "massive, vehicle-oriented objective map adding a twist to its classic predecessor with all new interiors, dramatically reshaped exteriors and brand new vehicle variants."
A smaller, but as-yet unnamed, map will also be included in the pack.
Since its release last September, Halo 3 has sold over 7.3 million copies and the last map pack Heroic was downloaded by over one million players.
