Electronic Arts has opened the doors to a new in-game online store for its best-selling music title Rock Band.
The game, which went on sale last November in the US, has seen over six million songs downloaded in just three months and now the firm has launched an in-game music store via a downloadable software update to make buying tracks easier.
An EA spokesman said: "This innovative new feature allows Rock Band players to preview and purchase downloadable individual music tracks and packs from the vast selection of offerings available to date without ever leaving the game as they build their own custom Rock Band library.
"The Rock Band Music Store has a user-friendly interface to streamline and enhance the music shopping experience and will be available via a free download through Xbox Live and PlayStation Network this week."
Rock Band is expected to launch in the UK this spring for PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360.
