Mercury records has announced it will debut the forthcoming single from rock band Def Leppard as a downloadable track for music game Guitar Hero III.
'Nine Lives' will be made available, alongside previously released tracks from the group, on April 24 on Xbox Live and on May 8 on the PS3 Store.
It's the first time the band, which first formed in 1977, have become involved in launching a single using a digital method.
"I know from personal experience how much more you get into the music by playing the game, which is why we were keen to explore this opportunity," said Joe Elliott, lead singer of Def Leppard.
"Guitar Hero is extremely popular with all kinds of music heads, which includes a lot of our fans, and we think releasing 'Nine Lives' this way first is just fantastic!"
