Supermarket giant Tesco is planning to take on Apple with the announcement of a new digital download service.
Tesco Digital, which will offer 3.3 million MP3 tracks, as well as TV shows and computer games, is all part of the group's plans to take on Apple, claims Brand Republic.
Although no details were announced of what games will be become available for download and for what formats, with Tesco's buying power the move could spark a revolution in buying games digitally.
A statement from Brand Republic read: "Tesco Digital will launch next month, offering 3.3m songs with plans to add TV shows and computer games."
This morning Tesco published its latest profit figures for the year ending February 23, revealing £2.8 billion pre-tax profit after sales grew by 11.1%.
