Sega signs deal with 'Resident Evil' creator
Sega has signed a four-game deal with the recently formed Platinum Games studio in Japan, with one title to be directed by the legendary Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.

Under the agreement, three titles will emerge from Platinum Games itself and one from external board member Mikami.

The three announced games will be a Wii exclusive third-person action game entitled MADWORLD; DS exclusive RPG Infinite Line, which claims to be "one of the most complex RPG titles developed for the DS to date"; and PS3 and Xbox 360 game Bayonetta, directed by Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya, featuring a powerful witch with angelic enemies.

The Shinji Mikami title, however, has yet to be announced.

“We are thrilled to have forged this new relationship with such a talented team of individuals and we are understandably excited about the titles that they are producing for us,” said Mike Hayes, president and COO of Sega Europe.

“Sega continually strives to release games for all consumers that are of the highest quality, working with Platinum Games further enhances that strategy.”

The three announced titles are all scheduled for a 2009 release.
