New game allows players to alter TV show
The Sci-Fi Channel has announced it is working on a "groundbreaking" idea that will see it launch both a new TV series and accompanying game franchise.

MMO developer Trion is working on the concept, which will allow those playing the game to shape the TV show's story using their virtual adventures.

"This is the Holy Grail for us, without a doubt," said Dave Howe, president of the Sci Fi Channel. "This is groundbreaking, and I don't say that lightly."

Although few details of the concept were released, the series will be set 80 to 100 years in the future on an Earth that looks very different from today's.

Both the TV series and game are scheduled for a 2010 launch.
