The epic first-person shooter, which earlier this year was confirmed as the global top seller of 2007, has reached the milestone sales figure after spending just seven months on sale.
Vince Zampella, head of the game's developer Infinity Ward, said he could not confirm how many copies the title had sold on each platform, but added it had been most successful on Xbox 360.
Zampella also revealed the game, available for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360, is one of "less than ten" titles to reach the 10 million sales figure since 2000.
