The trailer begins with 2D images reminiscent of the comic series before switching to 3D gameplay footage that continues the same graphical style.
The game stars the newly-created Lee Everett as a playable character rather than the comic and television series star Rick Grimes.
The first of five episodes of The Walking Dead: The Game will release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in late April at 400 MS Points and $4.99 respectively per episode. A season pass will be available on Mac and PC beginning in late April priced at $24.99.
Telltale is also offering a limited pre-order offer through its website where users will receive a 10% discount on the Mac and PC season pass as well as a chance to appear in the game. The winning user will appear as a survivor in the game's fourth episode before being turned into a zombie.
A Walking Dead Facebook game is also due to go live in April.
The second season finale of The Walking Dead set new ratings records for AMC when it aired on Sunday.
