'EastEnders' game rumour is false, says BBC
Following the announcement by respected games industry trade paper MCV that Eidos has signed a deal with the BBC to develop an EastEnders videogame, both Eidos and the BBC have told DS the rumours are false.

The story claimed that an EastEnders game is being developed by the casual games division at Eidos for both the Nintendo DS and mobile platforms, and that it would likely be a "Sims-style stimulation based around the antics of the Albert Square production".

However, Eidos press officer Rachael Grant told DS: "This story is simply a rumour that is doing the rounds on the internet at the moment. There are currently no plans to sign up any deal with EastEnders for a videogame."

Lisa Barker, assistant press officer for the BBC, added: "This has been floating around various websites but we are unaware of such a deal. There is no foundation in this rumour, it is mere speculation."
