What's happening? MTV One hunts for a Wannabe girl group at 8.30pm.

Why should you care? Inspired by the reunion of Booby, Pouty, Yoga-honed, Smiley and Dykey, this talent show is aiming to form a brand new chart girl group. The jewel in the judging panel's crown? Err... Chanelle from Big Brother. Let's be honest, the results are likely to be more Girls@Play than Girls Aloud.

Thursday

What's happening? The Goslings swimming club meets at London's Oasis Sports Centre, WC2.

Why should you care? You'll spend the evening splashing about with lots of fit guys in Speedos. Need we say any more?

Friday

What's happening? Victoria Beckham guests on Ugly Betty, airing at 9pm on Channel 4.

Why should you care? By getting Posh to appear on their paper-thin fashion rag satire, the makers of Ugly Betty have essentially heaped a generous helping of ridiculousness onto their already preposterous show, but, after a few drinks, it'll probably be quite funny.

Saturday

What's happening? The House of Homosexual Culture holds its annual Christmas 'Fayre' in Waterloo, London.

Why should you care? You'll be able to stock up on Christmas pressies, sample festive arts and crafts and scoff lots of yummy mince pies, all in the name of preparing for December 25. It certainly beats the High Street scrum, doesn't it?

Sunday

What's happening? Channel 4 screens Kylie Minogue’s White Diamond at 8pm.

Why should you care? This intimate behind the scenes documentary, tracking La Minogue's live comeback on 'Showgirl - The Homecoming Tour', might help to banish memories of those cringe-inducing comedy skits from The Kylie Show. We can but hope.
