Gay Spy's guide to the week ahead

Published Monday, Aug 6 2007, 13:19 BST | By Nick Levine
“Threw away my old clothes, got myself a better wardrobe,” Kylie once admitted. “I got something to say - I'm through with the past.” Quite right too, we reckon – it’s never too late to transform your life. But what if you don’t know where to start? Well, today’s your lucky day, because Gay Spy has planned a week of pure and unadulterated joy just for you.

Monday

What’s happening? Robyn and Kleerup release 'With Every Heartbeat' on CD single and download.

Why should you care? This string-drenched disco epic gets our toes tapping, our hearts racing and our eyes streaming. We’re guessing a few of you agree – it’s just stormed into the top five on downloads alone.

Tuesday

What’s happening? Anne Robinson recalls her career lulls on You Can't Fire Me, I'm Famous, airing at 10.35pm on BBC One.

Why should you care? Let's face it, the Queen of Mean has never taken anything lying down. We can't wait to see her bitching about her former bosses.

Wednesday

What’s happening? Heroes continues on BBC Two at 9pm.

Why should you care? This sci-fi drama is the year’s most addictive TV show. And Milo Ventimiglia, as Gay Spy regulars might have noticed, isn't exactly an eyesore.

Thursday

What’s happening? London's Ku Bar is showing Circuit as part of its gay films from around the world season.

Why should you care? Don’t tell us you’re not tempted by the idea of watching a movie in a licensed venue.

Friday

What’s happening? Sugababes take to the stage at Suffolk's Somerleyton Hall.

Why should you care? The sulky pop trio aren’t the most dynamic live performers, but their chestnut-packed back catalogue more than makes up for it. Altogether now: ”If you’re ready for me boy…”

Saturday

What’s happening? London enormoclub G-A-Y pits Kylie against Madonna for 'The Ultimate Pop Party'.

Why should you care? 2000 people. Limitless booze. 'Vogue'. 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'. 'Like A Prayer'. 'Better The Devil You Know'. Need we go on?

Sunday

What’s happening? Calvin Harris plays two shows at Edinburgh's Liquid Room.

Why should you care? Well, even the arty types at the Edinburgh Fringe deserve to let their hair down sometimes.
