Gay Spy's guide to the week ahead
Published Monday, Sep 10 2007, 12:04 BST | By Nick Levine
"I'm stronger than yesterday, now it's nothing but my way," Britney Spears once announced. "My loneliness ain't killing me no more - I'm stronger." Amen to that! If you've had a tough time of late, it's time to put the bad times behind you. And there's no need to shave your head in anguish, because Gay Spy has planned a week of mirth and merriment to jump-start your new life.
Monday
What’s happening? Season 2, part 2 of Supernatural is released on DVD.
Why should you care? It's time to choose your side: are you a Jensen man or a Jared man? You have 445 minutes to decide.
Tuesday
What’s happening? Naomi Campbell shares her career lulls with Piers Morgan on You Can't Fire Me, I'm Famous, airing at 10.35pm on BBC One.
Why should you care? The tempestuous supermodel sued the Daily Mirror in 2002 after Morgan printed a photograph of her leaving a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. She won the case, but something tells us Naomi’s the sort of woman who holds a grudge.
Wednesday
What’s happening? Holly and Fearne Go Dating at 10pm on ITV1.
Why should you care? Watching this cringe-inducing grin-fest is like picking a nearly-healed scab: you know you shouldn't, but you just can't help yourself.
Thursday
What’s happening? Erasure play Manchester Apollo, the ninth stop on their 25-date UK tour.
Why should you care? The flashy synth-poppers have scored more than 30 hit singles, so their live set should contain more smashes than Friday night at a Greek taverna.
Friday
What’s happening? BBC One offers us A Bucket o' French and Saunders at 9pm.
Why should you care? These greatest hits shows are patchier than a Soho tart's complexion, but the highlights - normally when Dawn and Jennifer send up a movie or TV show - are definitely worth revisiting.
Saturday
What’s happening? Pam Ann brings her 'Come Fly With Me' show to London's Bloomsbury Theatre.
Why should you care? Caroline Reid’s bitchy, bawdy air hostess is one of the biggest draws on the comedy circuit. Remember to pop on your glad-rags – this gig’s being filmed for the first ever Pam Ann DVD.
Sunday
What’s happening? It's Gay Sunday at London Zoo!
Why should you care? This annual event features an “exclusive garden party”, a performance from the London Gay Symphonic Wind – that's an orchestra, apparently – and a meet-and-greet with the animals. Our top tip? Remember your wet wipes.
