The one to... download
Sad as it is, Britney Spears is releasing the best music of her career just as her personal life descends into chaos. 'Piece of Me', the second single from her Blackout album, is a blistering tirade against the media scrum that's been following her for the last decade. "I'm Mrs. 'Extra! Extra! This just in!'" she spits over a spiky, squelchy electropop backing. "I'm Mrs. 'She's too big, now she's too thin'." The whole affair is so well-executed that it feels churlish to note that – gasp! – Britters didn't actually write it.
The one to... Sky +
ITV1's genre-busting new drama series Moving Wallpaper/ Echo Beach works brilliantly on two levels. The first half of each episode is a sharp, knowing Office-style comedy about the makings of a serial drama, while the second half is the serial drama itself: a likeable piece of soapy hokum featuring almost as many fit young things as Skins. What, you don't believe us? Click here to be enlightened.
The one to... give a chance/ keep on following
What do you mean you haven't watched Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack yet? You don't know what you're missing! Though the success of the reswizzled series fluctuates violently according to the likeability of the celebrity hijacker - Matt Lucas good, Ian Wright not so good – there's always plenty of loin-teasing talent to hold our attention. Our current favourite? Boxing prodigy Anthony, who, helpfully, is flashing his chest to your left.
