Welcome to Digital Spy's live coverage of the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival 2008!
One Edinburgh on from a festival where Britain's broadcasting industry grappled with a disastrous 2007 - a year that started with a race row and ended with Newsnight journalist Jeremy Paxman questioning the future of television itself - the theme of this year's gathering is "I love TV".
The organisers are preaching to the choir here at DS, and we're throwing ourselves into proceedings with live coverage of the top sessions - kicking off on Friday with BBC Three controller Danny Cohen's controller interview, video interviews with top TV execs including Sky1, 2 and 3 controller Richard Woolfe, and the occasional spot of live video broadcasting from the conference centre (if you see someone loitering with a suspiciously-mounted mobile phone, do nip over and say hello).
As always we'll be supplementing our blog coverage with a full news service rounding up the key developments from the weekend.
Our coverage begins Friday afternoon!
