In The Beginning

Good day! Neil here, (finally) live from a sunny Edinburgh (yes, it surprised me too).
I'm coming to you from the hustle and bustle of the press room in the International Conference centre as a special TV executive-themed version of Strictly Come Dancing plays out in the background.
DS ace reporter Dan Saney is also in Edinburgh this weekend; he's covering the Film Festival so watch out for some reviews and other nice features early next week.
We've a hectic few days ahead (17 sessions alone) - but today serves as a relatively calm introduction.
Coming up this afternoon are interviews with BBC Two head Roly Keating, Channel 4 CEO Andy Duncan and BBC Three's top man, Stuart Murphy.
More to come throughout the day!
