Highlights of the 24 session with executive producer/writer Evan Katz.
- "We try hard not to name real countries because we don't want to be behind the curve and we don't want to get yelled at."
- "We got flak about Jack's daughter (Kim) for two years; people thought we were doing too many 'damsel in distress' scenarios."
- On Chappelle's shocking execution in season three: "We knew right away that Jack was going to have to kill him. But we structured that [episode] so that you thought 'there's no way he's going to kill him'."
- On planning ahead: "We never really get more than 2 episodes ahead. it's a crazy year."
- Katz refused to give much away about the new season other than information already known, save for a few inferences. Highlight the text that follows to read further. President Logan's wife was described as "emotionally delicate" and their relationship "interesting". He added: "And we're bringing back a few regulars but.... can't tell you." Asked whether a story involving Jack away from CTU would be possible, he replied: "Clearly he has some ground to travel before he gets back into action."
- Filming of episodes three and four is currently taking place while episodes five and six "exist".
