Day two

Did you see Charles Allen's comments about Channel 4? Scathing. He addressed the issue of his upcoming departure from ITV right at the start, in a poking-fun-at-himself style. The reason he didn't speak much about ITV - and instead, more about Channel 4 - is apparently because he didn't wish to create a "to do" list for his successor.
Anyway, that is so yesterday. Looking ahead to today, we have controller interviews with Kevin Lygo (Channel 4), Peter Dale (More4), Janice Hadlow (BBC Four), Simon Shaps (ITV) and Roly Keating (BBC Two).
There's also the premiere of Lovespring International, including an interview with creator / occasional star Eric McCormack, a masterclass with Sir David Attenborough and interviews with Luke Johnson (Channel 4 chairman) and Jana Bennett (BBC's director of television).
There are interesting things as well - a Stars in their Eyes Edinburgh special and at the end of the day, the coveted Channel of the Year Awards, presided over by "love muscle" Russell Brand.
As you can see, there's a lot happening today. Saturday is always the meet of the festival: in all there are 28 different sessions today, with some tough clashes. I'll be missing Aaron Sorkin, for example, to see the likes of Jonny Webb and Paul Revoir humiliate themselves in the name of entertainment.
Stay tuned throughout the day for plenty of updates, including all the news from last night's launch party for Five's new digital channels.
