Fire alarm takes BBC Scotland news off air
Published Tuesday, Jul 8 2008, 10:34 BST | By Dave West

Digital Spy forum members reported seeing BBC London News in place of Reporting Scotland between about 6.30pm and 6.50pm. BBC Radio Scotland was also playing holding music during the period.
An on-air announcement blamed "technical problems" before the Scots show returned. The corporation later confirmed an alarm was activated at its Pacific Quay building in Glasgow.
BBC Scotland said in a statement: "A fire alarm went off and the building had to be evacuated. The safety of our staff is paramount. We were unable to return to the building until we were instructed to do so by the fire service."
Some Scottish forum members were underwhelmed with the London alternative. "For a big place London News is dull," said Superluke2, posting from Stirling.
