Up to 100 jobs to go at GCap Media
GCap Media, owner of radio stations including Capital, Classic FM and Xfm, is to make up to 100 redundancies in a round of cost cutting.

The job losses are expected to be made mainly in communications, finance, legal and human resources departments, but may also affect senior management and programming.

The redundancies have been described as a reaction to "the credit crunch and the current economic downturn", according to MediaGuardian, and staff were being informed of the plans today.

On Monday it emerged that up to 30 jobs were to go at Global Radio, which owns stations including Heart and Galaxy and is in the process of completing a takeover of GCap.
