Alexis Thompson has been chosen by Emap to become the new managing director of its Leeds-based Radio Aire and Magic 828 stations.
Thompson, who joins Emap following a successful three-year spell in charge of Bath FM, replaces Roz Whitney, who left the position to spend time with her family.
"Leeds is a vibrant and exciting city with so much to offer and we're going to own it. I know I have a team of talented and enthusiastic people there and we have great plans for Aire FM and Magic 828 - just watch this space," commented Thompson on her appointment.
Thompson has enjoyed a seventeen-year career in commercial radio, which has included promotion management roles at LBC, TalkSport and Emap itself.
