Radio 1 unveils new weekend lineup

Radio 1 has today announced details of an "exciting" new weekend lineup featuring "new shows and new talent".
Dreem Teem's Spoony will front the new breakfast show between 7 and 10. "I can’t wait to get stuck into the new shows," Spoony said today. "I am gonna blow the opposition out of the water, trust me."
Colin Murray and Edith Bowman gain a new show on Sundays between 10am and 1pm. "I'm really chuffed that Radio 1 has given Edith and I this vote of confidence so early in our partnership," Murray said. "Myself and hollow legs Bowman are looking forward to working as part of a dedicated weekend team."
Nemone will be on air for two hours from 1pm, followed by Trevor Nelson and Judge Jules on Saturday, and 'Backstage' -- with new hosts, yet to be confirmed -- and the chart rundown on Sunday.
"These new weekend shows are going to be fantastic," said R! controller Andy Parfit. "Colin, Edith and Spoony are all hugely popular with our listeners so extending their shows across the weekend was the right decision to make. Weekends on Radio 1 are going to be hard to beat."
The new schedule begins in September.
