The BBC's Director-General, Gregy Dyke, opened the BBC's new studio in Bradford's National Museum of Photography, Film and Television on Friday.
The facility at the Museum forms part of the interactive News Gallery element on the third floor, and will be home to staff from BBC Radio Leeds, BBC Look North, BBC Asian Network and BBCi Bradford.
Colin Philpott, Head of Local and Regional programmes in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, said: "Our new studio and office demonstrates the BBC's commitment to Bradford.
"We have proper TV facilities in the city for the first time; a state of the art studio for BBC Radio Leeds to be able to broadcast programmes from on a regular basis; we've created a website for Bradford; and a base for the Asian programmes team producing local programming and contributing to the Asian Network."
The opening of the new studio in Bradford will start a week of special programming on BBC Radio Leeds' 774MW frequency. From Monday 14 through Friday 18 July, separate news bulletins for Bradford will air 06:00-15:30, with special editions of Good Morning Bradford airing 09:00-noon. On a more permanent basis, the station's afternoon programme will come from the new studio, along with two weekend programmes. The station's breakfast show will alternate between Leeds and Bradford fortnightly.
BBC Director-General Greg Dyke said: "Our new studio and office gives the BBC a much friendlier face in Bradford.
"Being part of the museum here means that visitors are able to see BBC staff at work, yet are also able to learn about the BBC on a much wider basis.
"They can learn about how BBC Regional TV works, can surf the BBC's online pages, and can try their hand at reading a news bulletin using a BBC autocue."
