Andi Peters and Emma Forbes, of Live and Kicking fame, are taking over the weekend breakfast show on London's Capital FM, it was announced today as part of a wide-ranging schedule update at the radio station.
In a strategy designed to "super-serve" Capital's key adults 25-34 demographic, the station will launch a new schedule on September 29th, promoting a non-stop thirty minute music mix during daytime, along with new evening and late night shows.
Major changes during the week include James Cannon moving to the mid-morning show, with a "more intensive music mix," and Margherita Taylor presenting the new entertainment-led late night show. Capital is promising that its evening and late-night shows will "include exclusive guests, acoustic sessions, and London's biggest gigs and film premieres," under a brand called the "Entertainment Zone."
Capital's Managing Director, Keith Pringle, said:
"When you're the most listened to station in town its easy to stick with a tried and tested formula. However, we know that to stay ahead of the rest we need to be constantly innovating and evolving to keep pace with London and Londoners. The development of our music policy and new shows across evenings and weekends will highlight our passion for music across the spectrum and give our listeners the quality radio they deserve."
