The 13-part series, starring Bradley James as Prince Arthur and Colin Morgan in the title role, will air as part of BBC One's Saturday night family entertainment lineup starting in September. It has already been picked up by US network NBC for its Winter 2009 lineup, and Ten also plans to slot the series into its 2009 schedule.
"Ten is very proud to have acquired such as prestigious new drama," said Beverley McGarvey, the network's head of programming. "Its multi-generational appeal, compelling cast, impeccable production, writing and special effects will make it a stand out television event and a spellbinding addition to our 2009 line-up."
David Ellender, CEO of programme makers FremantleMedia Enterprises, said that the show "has the potential to draw a vast and demographically varied audience in Australia."
He added: "We are delighted to see the show make a home on Ten which has blanket coverage of homes in Australia's five mainland capital cities."
