Virgin drops Denham from drivetime

Daryl Denham has been dropped from Virgin's drivetime slot as part of a "major overhaul" of the station's weekday lineup.
Denham, who took over the role a year ago, will move to the weekend breakfast show. He will be replaced in the 4-7pm slot by newcomer Kelly-Anne Smith, 26, who joined Virgin six months ago from Nottingham's Century Radio.
Kelly's 7-10pm slot will be taken by Ben Jones, currently presenter of the afternoon 1-4pm slot. Neil Francis will replace Jones.
Pete and Geoff's breakfast show and Russ Williams' 11am-1pm stint are unaffected by the changes.
"Our sound and line up are evolving," explained Virgin’s programme director Paul Jackson. "These changes sharpen an already music focused station."
The new lineup begins on January 3.
