Xfm Scotland is to be rebranded as part of the Galaxy network by Global Radio, it has been confirmed.
The station, which launched in 1999 as Beat 106, will join five other Galaxy-branded outlets: four analogue stations in Birmingham, Manchester, the north east of England and Yorkshire, and a national digital version.
Global Radio executive director Richard Park said: "Central Scotland can prepare itself to receive Britain's fastest-growing radio station aimed at young people and the prospect of the output from the Glasgow studios is an exciting one."
Power FM, a contemporary hit radio-formatted station broadcasting across south Hampshire, is also expected to be renamed Galaxy shortly, with Digital Spy forum members reporting the registration by Global Radio of domain names for Galaxy South Coast and Galaxy Solent in recent days.
