iPlayer listings added to Sky Player

Details about programmes carried on BBC iPlayer have been made available on Sky's online television service, Sky Player.
A new version of the Sky service carries listings and programme information from iPlayer in a variety of BBC-branded sections and the existing lineup of Sky Player genres. Video playback still takes place in the iPlayer environment with the listings acting purely as a way for the BBC "to reach out to new audiences".
Sky's director of on demand, Griff Parry, said: "Access to BBC content along with improvements to the user experience will further support the ongoing success of Sky Player. The combination of more choice and easier access means Sky Player users will find it even simpler to enjoy a wide range of TV content. The addition of links to content from BBC channels further demonstrates Sky’s role as a leading online aggregator with access to one of the broadest selections of online video."
Anthony Rose, the BBC's head of online media, added that the deal "further underlines our commitment to reaching new audiences by making BBC iPlayer available on as many services as possible".
