Moyles apologises for Polish prostitute joke

Chris Moyles has apologised for remarks he made on his Radio 1 show about Polish people making good prostitutes.

The controversial DJ said on his November 19 show: "I've always found in my experience that prostitutes make very good cleaners and their ironing, brilliant.

"I just find that if you're Polish, you're very good at ironing, and prostitutes. Very good also at fixing cars."

The BBC promptly received more than 30 complaints from Polish people who objected to Moyles's comments.

The 34-year-old has now issued a statement apologising for the remarks: "I didn't mean to link Polish people and prostitution in the way that has been suggested, but of course I realise that some people have taken it that way and to those people I'm sorry for the unintentional offence."
