The 47-year-old announced that he is taking action against the radio station after he was sacked for calling Redbridge councillor Michael Stark a "Nazi" live on air. He later apologised and claimed that he meant to call the official, who was discussing plans to ban smokers from adopting, a "health Nazi".
"I have tried to offer an olive branch to TalkSport chief executive Scott Taunton but he has declined my overtures," Gaunt wrote on his website.
"He claims he will not reinstate me despite the tens of thousands of emails that [listeners] have sent in. Therefore he has left me with no choice but to take legal action and that has now started.
"Obviously I have missed being on air but as I have said before I have been both overwhelmed and humbled by your support so once again thank you very much."
He added: "Of course if you wish to tell Mr Taunton and talkSQUAWK what you think of their decision to terminate my contract after only 16 complaints to Ofcom please email them."
