Motors TV, the motorsport channel carried on satellite and Virgin Media cable, is now broadcasting in widescreen.
All major live coverage events, including the American Le Mans series and the World Motocross Championship, will air in widescreen.
Jean-Luc Roy, President and CEO of Motors TV said: “This is a major development in the history of our channel since we launched on 1 September 2000. Considering the rapid progression in the number of homes equipped with widescreen televisions, we decided that we should enable our viewers to enjoy the tremendous spectacle generated by motorsport as soon as possible. These championships provide very impressive pictures and the decision to broadcast them in 16:9 format was obvious so that our viewers can benefit quickly and completely. Thanks to this innovation, Motors TV joins the select group of channels who broadcast in this format, a number which is set to grow in the future.”
