Professor David Youlton has decided to step down as chairman of the Digital TV Group after ten years.
The digital TV industry body is advertising the post and expects to complete the appointment process before the end of April.
"Since his appointment, Professor David Youlton has made a significant contribution to the growth of the DTG," said Richard Lindsay-Davies, the organisation's director general. "The DTG was established to write and maintain the specification for digital television in the UK, and we have now progressed to writing the specification for terrestrial HDTV in the UK which is in the final stages of completion. We have developed a world class test and conformance centre: DTG Testing and more than ever, we’re using the multi platform experience we have gained in the UK to help other territories launch digital television services. We’re now seeking an outstanding Chairman to lead the organisation through this next phase of its development."
