Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon's slot on the station had 981,000 listeners per week during the period, up from 942,000 during the last quarter of 2007. Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott on Heart took second place with 868,000 listeners - down 50,000 year-on-year but up by 100,000 quarter-on-quarter - while Magic's Neil Fox took third place with 813,000 - up 86,000 quarter-on-quarter but flat year-on-year.
Overall, however, Magic remained the number one station in London, reaching 2m listeners a week with a 6% share of the capital's audience. Heart is second place with 1.79m listeners and a 5% audience share, while Capital took third with 1.62m listeners and a 4.8% audience share. Bauer's Kiss followed in a close fourth place with 1.58m listeners - up 3.1% quarter-on-quarter and an impressive 10.5% year-on-year - and a 4.2% audience share.
"These are superb RAJAR results," said Dee Ford, Bauer Media's group managing director for radio. "I’d like to say well done to the team at Magic 105.4 - celebrating a full two years at number one and recording a full one percent share between the station and its nearest competitor."
