Virgin Media Television chief executive Malcolm Wall is to quit the firm next month to "pursue other business interests".
Wall joined Telewest's Flextech division in January 2006 and oversaw its transformation into the content arm of NTL-Telewest and eventually Virgin Media Television. During his time at the company, he oversaw the launch of Virgin 1 and the ongoing development of Living, Bravo, Challenge and Trouble.
"Malcolm's long experience in broadcasting, combined with an acute understanding of the changes that are taking place in the industry, have helped steer our content business into the digital age," said Virgin Media chief executive Neil Berkett. "On behalf of Virgin Media, I wish him every success for the future."
Wall's replacement has yet to be named.
