BBC confirms Lottery move to the nations

The National Lottery show formats will move to Scotland and Northern Ireland, the BBC has announced.

The four BBC National Lottery shows - 1 vs. 100, In It To Win It, Who Dares Wins, and a new format based around the Olympics - are set to shift as part of the BBC's Network Supply strategy.

The Out of London strategy will mean that by 2016, 50% of all BBC output should originate from outside the capital, and some programmes that are already filmed outside the city will move to other UK nations.

"The move of the Lottery shows is part of our exciting plans to build entertainment production in Scotland and Northern Ireland," said controller of network production Anne Morrison.

"By making more programmes outside London we are boosting the creative industries in those areas and ultimately benefiting all our audiences across the UK."

Last month, the BBC confirmed that Casualty will leave its Bristol production base and relocate to Cardiff.
