Published Wednesday, Aug 25 2004, 22:33 BST | By Iain Chapman
BBC Three controller Stuart Murphy yesterday revealed details of what autumn brings to the channel.
Highlight of the autumn schedule is Flashmob - The Opera, which sees the unsuspecting public being treated to an impromptu opera, performed by a group of opera singers, 65 musicians, and a crowd of people who will be alerted to the performance by SMS text message.
Operas being given the Flashmob treatment include Madam Butterfly and Don Giovanni.
Stuart Murphy said "I have been thinking for a while about how we do opera for this audience, and hope we have cracked it with this exciting collaboration between BBC Classical Music and BBC Comedy Entertainment".
Other shows in the lineup for autumn include the return of Little Britain, which will see "new and even more peculiar characters", including a new friend for Old Haven's favourite transvestite, Emily Howard.
Actor Kris Marshall, Nick Harper in My Family stars in a new sitcom called My Life In Film
On a more serious side, the channel will include film Top Spot by Tracey Emin. The film follows Emin's life, having been raped at the age of 13, growing up in her home town of Margate. It also features the stories of six teenage girls currently living in the town.
