Chris Evans has won two gongs at the 27th Sony Radio Academy Awards, picking up gold for Music Radio Personality of the Year and the Entertainment Award for his BBC Radio 2 shows.

Other winners included Simon Mayo and Mark Kermode for the Best Speech Award, Mark Radcliffe for Music Broadcaster of the Year and Neil Fox for the Gold Award.

Last year's breakfast award winner Chris Moyles had to settle for bronze at this year's ceremony.

Chairman Tim Blackmore said: "The entries for this year's awards have once again demonstrated that through good times and bad, UK radio serves its listeners in exceptionally imaginative, informative and entertaining ways.

"There is much of which we should continue to be proud, and which rightly deserves the celebration that the Sonys offer."

Rock-dedicated Kerrang 105.2 won the Station of the Year award for those with over a million listeners.
