Big Brother production company Endemol is interested in taking a stake in Setanta, it has emerged.
Initial reports indicated that Endemol was considering going in as an equal partner with Len Blavatnik's Access Industries. However, Blavatnik's move on Friday to offer Setanta £20m for a 51% stake in the company is understood to have cooled Endemol's interest.
According to the Financial Times, Endemol is now considering an acquisition of Setanta's production facilities to augment its relatively small existing sports production arm; however, Blavatnik's rescue package is understood to require another £20m from other investors and Endemol has yet to rule itself out.
