The award-winning children's radio station will have a UK-wide trial on the Digital One multiplex from June 27 to October 3.
Owned by Folder Media, the station already airs on DAB in London, as well as on Sky Digital, Virgin Media and the internet. It was named digital station of the year at the recent Sony Radio Academy Awards.
Managing director Gregory Watson said: "We recognise that in 2009 more families than ever will be taking their holidays within the UK.
"Fun Kids has already established a loyal following among children under ten and their mums and dads, playing child-friendly pop hits, music from films and shows and well known classic kids' tunes."
Digital One's acting chief executive Glyn Jones pointed out that Fun Kids will be the third new nationwide digital radio station it has launched since April, after BFBS Radio and Amazing Radio.
"Given the recession, that's very positive. It’s great that over the summer, families and children across the UK can listen to a dedicated station that's both fun and educational," he explained.
"Agreeing a fourteen week contract also shows flexibility and a desire to make things happen both from Digital One and the broadcasting regulator, Ofcom."
