Nickelodeon to take over ITV kids slot?

ITV is poised to sign a deal handing over control of its weekday kids slot to Nickelodeon, according to Broadcast this week.
The deal will see Nick excutives both "commission and produce the bulk of content" for the 105-minute afternoon block. Weekend shows Ministry of Mayhem and CD:UK will, for the time being at least, be unaffected.
It is unclear whether the CITV name will continue; the magazine reports that Nickelodeon has proposed to brand the slot 'INK' - ITV Nickelodeon Kids.
An ITV spokeswoman said: "We are looking at options for strategic alliance in the children’s arena and that process continues."
Disney Channel had also been in talks with the broadcaster over the deal, but decided to pull out of discussions.
