David Dimbleby will anchor the BBC's coverage of the US presidential election next Tuesday.
The Question Time host will preside over a six-hour BBC News special live from Washington DC overnight on November 2nd. The show, to be simulcast on BBC One and News 24, will feature guests Simon Schama, Robin Cook and Gore Vidal.
Peter Snow will also be on hand with up-to-the-minute statistics and analysis, while John Simpson will be stationed at the Bush Headquarters in Virginia and Bridget Kendall will be with the Kerry entourage in Boston.
Earlier in the evening, BBC Two's Newsnight will be live from Washington, and the Tuesday night Ten O'Clock News will also be packed with full election coverage as a coincidence with the launch of new interactive service Ten O'Clock News Extra.
Special programmes are also planned for Radio 4 and 5 Live.
