Evans is taking over the Radio 2 breakfast programme next year after Terry Wogan announced that he is leaving the show.
However, The Mirror reports that Moyles, who presents Radio 1's morning show, said: "I'm not worried about Chris. It was 14 years ago when he was at Radio 1 and I think we've got more listeners now than he had then.
"He'll get on fine because he's done it before and knows what he's doing. But all the oldies, all the 50-pluses, who don't like Chris Evans will go, 'Ooh, I'm not sure about him' and then they'll switch off.
"And he'll lose a couple of million listeners in his first set of figures and we won't have to do anything."
Moyles also joked that Wogan's audience might start tuning into Radio 1.
"They might like it," he said. "We do banter on the show, like Wogan has banter, but let's introduce them to a bit of Prodigy. Let's get them out of the '60s.
"But I can imagine us getting these listeners and then our average age going up to about 55, and people having a go saying, 'Chris Moyles is getting the wrong audience for Radio 1'.
"You know what it's like. You can never win."
