BBC wins Christmas ratings battle

The BBC came top of the Christmas Day ratings with EastEnders emerging as the most-watched soap and The Vicar of Dibley the most popular comedy show.
12.3m people tuned in for the Christmas episode of EastEnders, which easily beat competition from Coronation Street with 11.3 and Emmerdale with 7.5m viewers.
Harry Potter's debut on TV was very popular with 7.9m tuning in to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on BBC One.
The Vicar of Dibley was the most popular comedy with 11.8m viewers, whereas the Absolutely Fabulous Christmas Special was left with 5.2m.
The Queen's speech drew a viewership of 5.5m on the BBC and another 1.5 on ITV.
BBC One controller Lorraine Heggessey said: "It is a key public service to provide entertainment for all ages throughout the festive season.
"It's fantastic that our original comedy and drama featuring Britain's best-loved artists and most talented writers has made BBC One first choice for Christmas."
