The craft-orientated channel currently broadcasts programming from Monday to Friday, including live shows from 8am to 1pm. Already available on Sky (channel 671) and Freesat (channel 813), it was also launched on Freeview in July.
To celebrate the digital switchover reaching 7.2 million homes in the Granada TV region, Ideal World has opted to increase the channel's broadcast hours to cover the weekends. It will now carry live shows from 8am to 1pm every Saturday and Sunday.
"We continue to invest in our Freeview offering by creating new specialist channels for our customers to enjoy," said Ideal World chief executive Mike Hancox.
"We look forward to the end of 2010 when Freeview will be available to over 98% of the UK households."
