The BBC Breakfast presenter will step in on January 2 for Fighting Talk host Colin Murray, who is fronting the Darts World Championships on BBC One.
Hollins, an ex-footballer, said: "What an honour to chair Fighting Talk, which is a must listen in the Hollins household, I can't wait to get in the chair."
Commissioning editor of Radio Five Live Jonathan Wall added: "We needed a big man to fill Colin Murray's shoes while Colin is at the darts.
"We couldn't find him so we've gone for little Chris, king of the sequins, instead!
"We are tying him to the presenter's chair so he can't do any more dancing."
The Strictly star, who beat Ricky Whittle in the show's final last week, joins a list of other celebrities who have presented the sports quiz in the past, including Sir Terry Wogan.
