Slow ratings start for 'The Apprentice'
The localised version of US import The Apprentice got off to a slow start in the ratings yesterday (Wednesday), according to early figures.

The show, which features Sir Alan Sugar in the Donald Trump role, debuted to an average of 1.9 million viewers - an 8.3% share of the audience - in the 9pm hour.

It could only equal Five's Law and Order: Criminal Intent but managed to top Channel 4's one-off Why Men Wear Frocks, which had 1.6 million (6.9%).

Ruling the roost was ITV1's returning drama Life Begins, seen by 8.7 million (37.5%).

The original version of The Apprentice regularly draws over 15 million viewers to NBC in the States.
